Humberto Cosenza

Humberto has a Ph.D. degree in microbiology and immunology from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. He has been Professor of Immunology at the Department of Pathology of University of Chicago and at the Department of Microbiology of the National University of Honduras; as well as Research Associate at the Basel Institute for Immunology in Switzerland. Humberto was involved in basic research in immunology and tropical diseases for 20 years and has published more than 50 scientific papers in peer review international journals. He has also served as Minister for Science and Technology for the Honduran government and contributed to the founding of the Honduran Council of Science and Technology. Also, he has been diagnostic product technical advisor for Kierkegaard & Perry Laboratories and for Symbiotic Corporation. Besides being one of the founding members of AgroBioTek in 1995, he is General Director of AgroBioTek International and is also acting General Manager for AgroBioTek-Nicaragua.

Jeannette Ayestas

Jeannette has a University Degree in Microbiology and Clinical Chemistry from the National University of Honduras and has more than 20 years experience in auditing and consulting for GMP and on development, implementation and verification of HACCP Plans. She is also a Certified Serv-Safe and Yum Brands International Certified Auditor as well as an expert in the implementation of Integrated Quality Systems in the food industry. Jeannette is the other founding member of AgroBioTek and is acting coordinator of sales and marketing for the AgroBioTek Group.

Juan Carlos Figueroa

Juan Carlos has an Agronomy Engineering degree from the Pan-American Agronomy School in El Zamorano, Honduras, and has specialized in the implementation of serological monitoring for the poultry, swine and bovine industries, as well as techniques for the detection of mycotoxins in grains and feeds. He has also extensive experience in the management and evaluation of serological monitoring data through the use of sophisticated computer software programs. Previous to AgroBioTek, he worked as Quality Control officer for the Eradication of the Screw Worm Program, SRN/USDA. At present, Juan Carlos is General Manager of AgroBioTek-El Salvador and has been a member of the AgroBioTek Group since 1997.

Gilberto Sánchez

Gilberto is veterinary physician graduated from the Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda, Coro, Estado Falcon, Venezuela; he also has postdoctoral training in avian pathology. Gilberto has ample experience in applied research projects for the avian, porcine and bovine industry and in veterinary diagnostics, implementation and interpretation of serological monitoring, training of laboratory personnel as well as on bovine dairy industry. Being specialized in Veterinary Medicine, Gilberto is the coordinator of the veterinary diagnostic products distributed by AgroBioTek; with special reference to the diagnostic equipment and products used in pet veterinary clinics. At present, Gilberto is General Manager of AgroBioTek-Venezuela and has been a member of the AgroBioTek Group since 1998.

Luis Matheu

Luis has a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry and a Masters in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad del Valle, Guatemala. He is a specialist in molecular diagnostic techniques such as: PCR, RT-PCR, in-situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. He has an extensive experience in the implementation of molecular biology techniques used to detect pathogens that affect the shrimp, poultry, swine and bovine industries. He served a head of the shrimp pathology diagnostic laboratory at the Universidad del Valle and is currently chemistry Professor at the Francisco Marroquín University. At present, Luis is General Manager of AgroBioTek-Guatemala and has been a member of the AgroBioTek Group since 1999.

Carolina Mueses

Carolina has a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and a Masters in Food Technology from Universidad de San Carlos, Guatemala. She has extensive experience in GMP auditing and HACCP plan verification and documentation development; as well as in ISO 9000 implementation for food plants. She also has experience in teaching university level courses, such as Basic Chemistry, Food Technology, Food and HACCP analysis, and Quality Control Systems. Carolina is certified as Lead Auditor for ISO 9000 and Auditor for GMP and also has experience as Head of Research and Development and Integrated Pest Control Program in food plants, serving as Quality Assurance Manager, responsible for the development of quality laboratory systems as member of the ISO 9000 Implementation team. At present, Carolina is General Manager of AgroBioTek-Dominicana and has been a member of the AgroBioTek Group since 2001.

Gabriel H. Cosenza

Gabriel has an Agronomy Engineering degree from the Pan-American Agronomy School in El Zamorano, Honduras, a Masters in Food Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in Food Microbiology, both from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is a certified HACCP Lead instructor, accredited by the International HACCP Alliance as well as a Yum! Brands International Certified Auditor. Gabriel is a specialist in GMP Auditing and Consulting, Prerequisite Program Development and Verification of HACCP systems; as well as Integrated Quality Systems. At present, Gabriel is General Manager of AgroBioTek-Honduras and has been a member of the AgroBioTek Group since 2004.
